Michigan MMM Events:

The Detroit Event at Grand Circus Park:

I, Professor Hemp, helped Jay Statzer with the Detroit Event which I would call a success.  This event attracted between 75-100 people and featured some great speakers and music acts.  The day was a mild 65 degrees and there was hardly a cloud in the sky.  Music was provided by "Sista Otis", "The Ziffles" and  "Jesse."  The City of Detroit was very cooperative and we were visited by Channel 4, 7, and 50 during the course of the rally.  Although I did not see it, we did make the 6:00 PM news.

There was a broad coalition of speakers including: (1) Professor Hemp (New Age Citizen); (2) Doug Campbell (Green Party Candidate for Michigan Govenor), (3) Jay Statzer (Cures Not Wars of Michigan) (4) Joe Pilchak (Michigan Militia), (5) Tim Beck (Detroit Medical Marijuana Initiative) and many others.  Participants spent the afternoon making protest signs and  listening to the speakers and musicians.  There was also a brief march towards the end of the afternoon. On Sunday CNN had a brief 20 second segment on the MMM event in England but made no direct mention of all the U.S. Events.  Still, this is possibly the best national coverage we have yet recieved for the 3rd Annual celebration of MMM.
