Help Promote the New Agenda for America (NAA)

The mini-flyer (left) has a list of the tentative planks for the "New Agenda for America" (NAA).  New Age Citizen believes that these are goals that most American citizens want to see enacted.  Unfortunately these are also goals that none of the 2008 Presidential candidates currently support.  We want to force this agenda down the throats of the Presidential Candidates during the following months, preceding the November 2008 Presidential election.  NAC editor, Bruce W. Cain, is considering running as a "write-in" candidate in order to further promote this badly needed agenda.  Though he has no realistic belief that he can become the next president, he hopes that such a strategy will spark discussion and influence the positions of the Democratic and Republican candidates.

Here is the link to the "New Age Agenda" mini-flyer *.pdf document.  You should be able to print the *.pdf mini-flyers on ANY printer:

Please make additional copies to share with your friends.  Just follow these steps:

(1) Print of a few copies (8 mini-flyers per page)
(2) Cut them into individual flyers with a pair of scissors
(3) Put them where they are easily accessible (e.g., your wallet or purse)
(4) Share them with any eligible American voter.

Then start sharing.  Share the agenda with your friends, your family, with the local policeman.  If you call into a "talk show" or attend a political debate read off the list and ask, after each policy plank is read: will you promise to support this?  IF a politician says NO to anything on this agenda, that you support, respectfully tell them that they are NOT GETTING YOUR VOTE.

Overview:

In the early 90's Newt Gingrich proposed a conservative elitist agenda that was known as "Contract for America."  Though he was eventually discredited, much of this anti-worker agenda has come to roost.  We see it in the outsourcing of our jobs, the destruction of our pensions and the demise of our environmental standards.  It basically sent the pendulum swinging far to the right where it appears to have got stuck.

"New Agenda for America" (NAA) is "New Age Citizen's (NAC's) attempt to pull that pendulum out of the wall, on the right, and keep it suspended somewhere between the middle and the left.  In order to achieve this end it will be imperative to recognize that this can only be achieved if the rest of the world also begins moving along those same lines.  So really, in order to have a "New Agenda for America" we also need to realize that there needs to be a "New Age for the Earth."  The end goal is a utopian world where nations become increasingly self sufficient and tensions between nations become reduced.  The keystone of this agenda is to rejuvenate the freedoms spelled out in the United States Constitution and insure that they are enjoyed by every human throughout the planet.

There are a number of fundamental difference between NAA's agenda and the imperialist agendas that have plagued civilizations for the last 5 millennium.  First and foremost, we are not going to allow the elite to sacrifice the economic security of our own citizens to attain the elite's goals.  Both bounty and sacrifice will be shared.  Secondly, we will be looking for complete transparency, in our econometrics, so that we don't deceive ourselves, should we find ourselves on the wrong path.

For the last 100 years we have been living off billions of years of accumulated carbon-based energy -- the vestiges of the accumulated corpses of all plant and animal life.  Unfortunately, in this geological blip in time, we have already exhausted at least 25 to 50 percent of that stored energy.  Furthermore, during this same 100 years the Earth's population has grown exponentially and the per capita energy use has increased as well.  It does not take a genius to recognize that this behavior is not sustainable.  And that is why Population Control is at the very top of the agenda.  The United States needs to present itself as a model, to the rest of the world, as a leader in population control and reduction.   If we cannot achieve this goal we might as well "party like its 1999" (remember that old Prince song) and accept our inevitable demise.

Here is an initial set of policy planks that will become part of "New Agenda for America"

(1) Universal Health Care for All American Citizens
(2) A 20-year moratorium on all immigration into the United States
(3) Legal Marijuana for all Adults and Medical Patients
(4) An immediate reversal to the Offshoring and Inshoring of American Jobs
(5) A strict enforcement on issues of Separation of Church and State
(6) An immediate move from so-called Free Trade Agreements to Bilateral Trade agreements
(7) A major R&D project to bring energy independence to the United States and the World through recycling, reuse, ending hyper-consumerism and investing in the development of sustainable energy sources (e.g., solar, photovoltaic, wind, geothermal)
(8) Increasing the "minimum wage" to a "living wage"

"New Agenda for America" is NAC's attempt to move beyond Drug Policy as a primary focus.  NAC is intent on building a base of activists that are concerned with the direction the United States is moving both in terms of domestic and international policy.  In short we are very concerned about where the Bush administration took us during his first term (2001 - 2004) and are even more concerned about what the administration is up to during this second term (2005 -2008).

During the first term the Bush Administration committed some huge errors including: Fueling Islamic Terrorism through the invasion of Iraq; Denying Overtime to nearly 11 million Americans; Driving up the national debt in order to repay his corporate constituency; Escalating the war against Medical Marijuana Users in states whose majorities support medical use.

Now the second Bush administration intends to completely destroy Middle Class America through an equally insane set of policy objectives including the following:  extend free trade agreements (e.g. NAFTA, CAFTA) which will result in the further erosion of American jobs, wages and revenue; Privatize Social Security in order to absolve the government of any responsibility for the fate of it's aging citizens; etc.  We have had enough.

We at NAC believe that the American worker has taken a big enough beating already, from the Bush administration and it is time this government started looking after it's own people first.  It is time we took this government back.  And frankly I think it is time we also took the planet back from the same Multi-national corporate entities that are screwing us here at home.  We need to move toward policies that ultimately benefit everyone on this planet.  In fact if "New Agenda for America" gets off the ground I may very well start a second initiative called "Take Back the Planet."

The primary purpose of either project will be to create a world that will insure more happiness for the succeeding generations.  It will be based on two major philosophical keystones:

(1) Humanitarianism as taught within the major religions and New Age Philosophy
(2) The "ideals" that our founding fathers laid down in their writings (e.g., Jefferson, Franklin, Washington, FDR) and through the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.  In addition we want to move towards the second Bill of Rights that FDR had crafted so many years ago.
