"You never change things by fighting the existing reality.
To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete."
—
Richard Buckminster Fuller

The purpose of this site is simple.  We want to defeat Prop19 -- which would "tax, regulate and control" the production and sale of Marijuana --  and concurrently work toward a far better solution by passing CCHH in California and MERP Nationally/Internationally.

All adults should be able to grow untaxed and unregulated.  And no government should have the right to make adult Citizens pay hundreds of dollars, for an ounce of Marijuana, when they could be growing it for themselves for free.

Taxing, Regulating and Controlling Marijuana in order to:

 * Subsidize underfunded government pension programs
(when most non-government workers have no pensions),
* Fund PIGS (Police Instigating Grass Stings) to invade our homes,
* Fund PIGS to forfeit our property,
* Create more opportunities for PIGS to arrest us,
* Build more prisons for non-violent US Citizens,
* Keep Prices upwards of $350 and ounce when we could grow for free

. . . is not an acceptable solution.

And that is what Prop19 will do.

Prop19 needs to go down in flames in November 2010.

Overview: Why Should Prop19 Be Voted Against by Marijuana Consumers?

To the good people of California:

This is directed at both those that use Marijuana (Medically/Recreationally) and those that do not.  If the materials below convince you that Prop19 is a misguided proposal then print off copies of following flier by simply clicking on the picture below.  Distribute copies as widely as possible throughout the state of California: at Hemp Expos, Public Fairs and anywhere else where you are likely to find large numbers of Californian voters.  Prop19 really needs to go down in flames this November (2010).

Prop19 needs to be defeated.  But don't be disheartened.  We have an alternative strategy that will provide better, cheaper access to Marijuana both in California and, eventually throughout the planet.  In fact what we hope is that, one day soon, all adult Americans will  be able to grow all the Marijuana we wish in our own gardens: next to the beets and red tomatoes.  Marijuana is NOT a dangerous plant and should be treated as such.  After all 2009 marked the first year where over 50 percent of the American People now believe that Marijuana should be Re-Legalized.  And this new majority is only expected to grow larger as we transcend over 70 years of misguided Marijuana Prohibition and move toward what you might call a Marijuana Nation: a nation where the thousands of uses of Marijuana is embraced and the right to consume and cultivate Marijuana is upheld as an inalienable right.

But Prop19 is a Trojan Horse proposal that will set back "true" Marijuana Re-Legalization by decades.  And this is not coming from the Obama Administration, Law Enforcement or Attorney's: many whom profit from the nearly Million Americans arrested every year for merely possessing small amounts of Marijuana.  This is coming from someone who was a good friend of the late Jack Herer: author of "The Emperor Wears No Clothes."

I am actively working against the passage of Prop19 because what starts in California tends to spread across the other states.  And Prop19 is disease that needs to be put to rest before it has the chance to infect other states.  Prop19 merely replaces one artificial system with another:  Marijuana Prohibition with "Taxed, Regulated and Controlled" Marijuana Prohibition.  Except now the cities, states and federal government will become your new "Drug Dealer."  And under Prop19 all Marijuana Cultivation will eventually be relegated to a handful of greedy millionaires such as Oaksterdam Board "member" Winston.  It is also becoming clear that, in order for them to collect taxes, on every gram of Marijuana produced, they are intent on taking away your right to grow it yourself.

"Just Say No to Prop19"
"Just Say Yes to MERP and CCHH"

Bruce W. Cain

As Marijuana Re-Legalization advocates really begin to analyze the implications of the Prop19, (The Tax, Regulate and Control Marijuana Initiative) they are slowly waking up to the fact that this is not really "Marijuana Legalization" at all.  Instead it appears to be a "Trojan Horse" proposal to monopolize Marijuana production and to eventually eliminate ALL home growing for ANY purpose.  Evidence of this is alreday becomng apparent in cities like Oakland that are already pushing dispensaries out of business.  In another city they are implementing a fee of $600 per square foot of growing space for home growers and caregivers: should Prop19 pass.

Prop19 will tie the Marijuana Legalization Movement into a "Gordian Knot" that will take decades to reverse.

A growing number of activists are realizing the their is actually a much better strategy to completely end Marijuana Cultivation in the United States:

(1) Pass Jack Herer's CCHH Initiative in 2012 in California and in other states where initiatives are allowed. [Read More]
(2) Insist on the passage the the "MERP" Model for Marijuana Re-Legalization.  This would need to be done at a National level through a special Joint Session of Congress.

But the main purpose of this web page is to going to be kept rather simple.  We will just be focusing on articles, events, videos and other websites that are intended to educate Marijuana advocates that Prop19 initiative needs to go down in flames in November 2010.

Miscellaneous

How will Prop 19 affect you?

• Are you age 18-20? You will not be allowed to consume cannabis legally under Prop 19. Currently, all you need is a medical recommendation to do so.

• Do you interact with anyone under age of 21? You will be looking at up to 6 months in jail for passing them a joint. (If the person is under 18 you will be looking at up to 7 years in prison.)

• Do you live in the same "space" and a minor? (Space could mean anything from the same house to an entire apartment complex.) You will not be allowed to consume cannabis.

• Do you rent your home? Prop 19 will only allow you to grow cannabis if you have permission from your landlord. Due to the risks involved, many (if not most) California landlords do not allow it. How is this legalization?

• Do you grow cannabis with a doctor recommendation? Prop 19 will likely be interpreted by law enforcement and judges to limit your grow space to 5′x5′.

• Do you provide your extra medical cannabis to dispensaries? It will be a crime to do so if Prop 19 passes. In addition, large Oakland growers and tobacco companies will take control of the market and push you out.

• Do you currently have to use your medical cannabis anywhere but home? Prop 19 will prevent patients from using their medicine anywhere in pubic. Which for many people with illnesses is not always possible.

• Do you sell your extra medical cannabis to other medical patients? Prop 19 will make this practice illegal. Even if you are only selling it to cover your growing cost.

• Do you currently enjoy the use of cannabis free from Government interference? Not only will the Government impose excessive taxes under Prop 19, but the federal government will likely respond with unprecedented action against California cannabis users. "The federal Controlled Substances Act makes it a felony to grow or sell cannabis. California can repeal its own marijuana laws, leaving enforcement to the feds. But it can’t legalize a federal felony. Therefore, any grower or seller paying California taxes on marijuana sales or filing pot-related California regulatory paperwork would be confessing, in writing, to multiple federal crimes."

At some point I would also urge you to take the time to watch this 35 minute video (above) of Dennis Peron ripping Prop19 to shreds: point by point.  Keep in mind that Dennis is recovering from a mild stroke which makes the disassembly of Prop19 all the more noteworthy.  For those unaware, Dennis Peron was instrumental in getting the first statewide Medical Marijuana Initiative (Prop215) passed in November, 1996.  And contrary to recent propaganda from NORML, and other groups, Dennis Peron is still diametrically opposed to Prop19.
