* Overview

Welcome. It has been 5 months since the last eLetter so I hope no one accuses me of sending too many of these.
I am proud to announce that the first Multi-Media CD "The Complete Writings of Professor Hemp (AKA Bruce Cain)" is available for only $24.95. The videos, essays and other materials should provide a comprehensive understanding of my ideas on subjects such as Re-Legalization, Drug Reform, Jury Nullification and many other topics. Also included are essays by other luminaries within the Drug Reform community. I'd rather give you something than merely ask for donations. But I really could use your financial support at this time.

The first edition of the NAC eZine will also be available in the next week. The initial cover story is titled: "Hope, Dope, And Marijuana: The Utter Stupidity, Irrelevance And Cruelty Of The Bush Administration's War On Cannabis"
Go to the following hyperlink for details on this and other NAC products: click here

If anyone has a fast connection to the internet (e.g., DSL, cable etc.) and wants to see what I look like and how badly I play guitar . . . now is your chance. Just click on my picture on the left side of the NAC homepage:

If you don't have a fast connection then click on the picture and read the accompanying text but don't run the video. In my first video address I accuse the Bush Administration of Domestic Terrorism in the murder of Tom Crosslin, owner of Rainbow Farm.

* Comment

As Bush pushes us forward towards a war with Iraq's Hussein it is truly time to consider which path we, as American's want to choose. Unfortunately, anything he says has to be taken with a bucket of salt. After all, with all the lies he has promulgated about "Drugs and Terrorism" he is looking more and more like the boy who cried wolf (or Hussein in this case). It is getting increasingly difficult to believe anything he says, leaving us to guess at his ultimate objectives. Regardless of what happens in Iraq I fervently believe that ending the Drug War has the most long-term potential for defunding and destabilizing terrorism. Consider that Afghanistan is the largest of producer of opium in the world. Now is not the time to be led, like a horse with blinders, by a president who has betrayed our trust on numerous occasions in the wake of "911."

I encourage everyone to check out the National/International Events calendar to see if there are events you can get involved with. Meanwhile, I am busy with a number of exciting Michigan Drug Policy events and hope that activists, in the greater Detroit Metro area, can attend.

I am also looking for constructive criticism of the "Marijuana Re-Legalization Project" which will be taking up more of my time over the next year. Please read the introductory notes, at the NAC homepage, and let me know your thoughts. I'd rather remove the weaknesses before moving forward.

* Michigan Events

The 3 big upcoming events for Michigan Drug Reform include the "Journey for Justice" Tour and the taping of the news show "Straight Talk". Professor Hemp will be speaking at both of these events.

** Detroit Group Hosts Beginning Of 4-Year Journey For Justice To Highlight
Drug War Injustice In U.S.

Two national organizations, The November Coalition and Common Sense for Drug Policy, are joining together to kick-off a four-year nation-wide Journey for Justice tour that will highlight injustice in the War on Drugs. The first weekend of this four year tour will begin in the Detroit area, and will eventually go to every state in the nation.

"This Journey for Justice springs from the extreme need and aspirations of thousands of drug war prisoners and their loved ones victimized by unjust drug and sentencing laws. We journey for justice to fortify resolve, and to awaken the dignity of ordinary people assaulted daily by a drug war that isn't a war on drugs - but a war on people," states Nora Callahan, Executive
Director of The November Coalition.

Friday, October 11th: Detroit, MI (2:00 PM)

The November Coalition is a non-profit, grassroots organization who are educating the public about the destructive increase in prison population in the United States due to our current drug laws. We alert our fellow citizens, particularly those who are complacent or naive, about the present and impending dangers of an overly powerful federal authority acting far beyond its constitutional constraints. The drug war is an assault and steady erosion of our civil rights and freedoms by federal and state governments.
