The arguments regarding health care reform are always guaranteed to generate
heated debate. I favor a single-payer system mainly because 30% of medical
profits currently go to HMO's, PPO's and other "health care organizations" that
are basically getting paid for shuffling paper. Because all of the
presidential candidates get money from these health care organizations it should
be no surprise that none of them support a single payer system And while
the current system is just great if you are an executive whose company is
footing your entire bill, it is obviously the worst system if you are one of the
47 million American citizens that have absolutely no health care.
There are many indirect things we might also do to minimize the cost of
health care. Here are a few examples of what I would like to pursue:
(1) Remove Polonium-240 from Cigarette production:
Former Surgeon General, Sir Everett Koop, once said that 95% of the lung cancer,
due to cigarette smoking, is caused by Polonium-240. This is the same
radioactive toxin that killed a former Russian spy in England a few years back.
The lethal dose is about 1 ten thousandth of a gram. Polonium-240 gets
into cigarettes via the Phosphate fertilizer that is used on the tobacco plant.
Why no one has yet pursued this research is beyond me as nearly 420,000
Americans die of Tobacco related disease each year in the United States.
(2) Legalize Marijuana and encourage its use as an alternative to Prescription
Drugs
In recent years research has uncovered a strange irony: people using
Anti-Depressants are more likely to commit suicide. What most people also
don't understand is the fact that Anti-Depressants are highly addictive drugs.
This is confirmed by the fact that long term users of these drugs suffer severe
symptoms when they attempt to stop using them "cold turkey." Of course
your local psychologist will say I'm wrong, but the fact of the matter is that
severe withdrawal symptoms are a classic attribute of any addictive drug (e.g.,
nicotine, caffeine, alcohol, opiates etc.).
(3) Institute real preventative medicine
We need to be pursuing diets that are based on whole grains and complex
carbohydrates -- not junk food that gives the "corn lobby" high profits for
turning our population into a diabetic nation. Teaching stress reduction
techniques, by teaching Hatha Yoga in all of the Public Schools might also
cultivate better health and reduced stress. I would never use force or
coercion to promote any health program (e.g., "seat belt laws") as I believe
this to be at odds with a country that truly embraces the notion of liberty.
Of course the most persuasive argument against both Legal and Illegal
Immigration is that we cannot even environmentally sustain the current US
population. We are already beginning to see serious regional signs that
portend battles over such essential resources as water. Of course the
Illegal Mexicans and Illegal Indian Visa "overstays" are driven nuts by this
argument because there is no convincing rebuttal to this argument.
Pat Buchanan - Day of Reckoning This is a great assessment of the perilous situation
that the American People are now forced to face. Buchanan puts the blame
where it belongs: on transnational corporations that have discarded American
workers in favor of exporting our jobs to China/India and importing H1-B workers
through various visa programs. He has also changed his position to support
a moratorium on both Legal and Illegal Immigration into the US.

How our Corporations are purposely discriminating
against US workers and hiring foreigners Beginning in 2000, after the "dot com" crash, millions of
American workers began finding themselves forced to training their younger
foreign H1-B workers before being "let go" as "at will" employees with virtually
no rights. We all felt that something was going on but could not quite
define what that something was. But the puzzle pieces have been slowly

Lou Dobbs: H1B visa scam hurts American college grads
No Need for Cheap Foreign Labor Lou Dobbs 11-13-2007. A new study by the Urban Institute
shows that universities are producing more than enough graduates in Science and
Math in this country, but corporations continue to claim there aren't enough
Americans so they must hire foreign workers on H-1B visas. Perhaps the best

Religious freedom requires both freedom of religion and freedom from
religion. Both Muslim footbaths (in public institutions) and Faith Based
Federal Initiatives are examples of recent developments which violate our
constitutionally guaranteed separation of church and state. Though I live
in one of the most densely populated Mid-Eastern communities within the United
States -- and have nothing against any of the Muslim population -- I just think
it prudent that we stop allowing immigrants into the United States from any
Muslim country. Because Islam has become such a divisive topic, since 911,
I will address Islam as a subtopic.

Now to get a little more serious. As someone who has taken the thoughts
of our founding fathers seriously I think it instructive to point you to some of
their original writings on the subject of religion and their shared view that
there should be a well defined separation between Church and State.
This website contains these complete works of Thomas Paine, pamphleteer,
patriot, dreamer (1737–1809). Now "Age of Reason" is the work that
criticizes the Bible and Religion in favor of reason. But I actually
encourage reading all 4 works as Thomas Paine embodies the true spirit of what
America should be about.

I have nothing against Muslims but EVERYTHING against Islam. That's
because Islam is not really a religion but a formalized "meme" engineered
specifically to dominate the world through a medieval system of Shania Law.
I completely understand those that think I'm over the top with such a statement.

Few of your representatives and none of the 2008 Presidential Candidates want
to rescind the Free Trade Agreements which began with NAFTA during the Clinton
Administration. Even if they say they want to do this, their records say
otherwise. It is one area where I am in agreement with the ethno-centric
groups that support Amnesty for Illegal Aliens. So while I would send most
of them back home, at least I would help improve on their economic conditions by
making these agreement null and void. Such actions would eventually cause
a rise in incomes for Mexican, Central American and South American workers.
The North American Union is, without doubt, the most harmful free trade
agreement yet proposed, as it would virtually destroy the sovereignty of Canada,
Mexico and the United States. I believe that Bush's embrace of the NAU
makes him a traitor to our Constitution and a whore of the Global Corpocracy.
The holy grail of energy independence lies in viable non-carbon sources of
energy (e.g., solar, wind, water, geothermal). If we could reduce overall
consumption it is possible the hemp-based ethanol production may be a viable
strategy, however, it will still produce CO2 and will still contribute to global
warming. It will also compete with land that is presently used to produce
food crops. An Apollo-like research effort to move away from petrochemical
energy will serve to both save the environment as well as defund Islamic
Terrorism which is significantly funded by our primary source of oil: Saudi
Arabia.
A few years ago the Arab country of Dubai attempted to purchase some of our
ports: where goods arrive off ships from around the globe. Lou Dobbs and
others identified this as a national security conflict and forced Congress to
change its mind. More recently (late 2007/2008) China and the UAE have
made offers to buy into Citicorp and JP Morgan. But this time there has
been barely a peep from anyone. We are being colonized by both rich
foreigners and foreign governments. And they are actually being helped out
by our very own corporations that seek either cheap labor or foreign capital.
This is something that needs to be stopped in its track immediately
Our Founding Fathers were adamant about never allowing the establishment of a
Central Bank. But that is exactly what occurred in 1913 with the
establishment of the Federal Reserve. In point of fact the Federal Reserve
is neither a Federal entity, nor is it a reserve. In point of fact it is a
private bank owned by both American and foreign elites. They are also able
to effect the creation of new money and loan it out to you and I with interest.
The more you learn about the Federal Reserve the more you will recognize why it
needs to change hands to public control. This is one area where Ron Paul
and I are in 100 percent agreement.
