"If the American people ever allow
private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation,
then by deflation, (i.e., the "business cycle") the banks and corporations
that will grow up around them will deprive the people of all property until
their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered."
"Today, we need a nation of
Minutemen, citizens who are not only prepared to take arms, but citizens who
regard the preservation of freedom as the basic purpose of their daily life
and who are willing to consciously work and sacrifice for that freedom."

New Age Citizen
www.newagecitizen.com October 4th, 2008 Edition [Last Update: October 11th, 2008]
Once again I would urge you to watch
the following video, before proceeding, in order to offset the
depressing, but necessary information that I'm about to convey:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-_wR22jTyyY
Yesterday -- Friday October 03, 2008
around 2:15 PM -- the United States, as we know it, ceased to exist.
For it was at that moment the President George Bush signed the "Trillion
Dollar Corporate Bailout" into law. While I am about to summarize
the situation, you owe it to your parents, your spouse and your children
to take the time to assimilate everything from the September 23rd "New
Age Citizen" archive.
Here you will find hours of reading and
videos by myself and others disassembling what has really taken place
over the last few weeks. This is possibly the most complete
assessment of what is certainly the biggest betrayal of the America
People in the history of the United States.
Next I want you to watch the
following video, by Lisa Ling, showing what is happening to 700
Californian residents each and every day now. With each eviction
the "banksters" have hired companies to throw all of the remaining
household items into a dumpster which then dumps tens of thousands of
dollars worth of appliances and keepsakes into the local landfill.
Why are they not taking this stuff with them was my first question.
According to the "trashing" company it comes down to the fact that these
people are so broke they cannot even afford to hire a moving van.
And even if they could afford that they certainly don't have the money
to store their hard earned possessions. I don't know about you but
I found that the sight of this literally made my stomach turn.
The one thing that this 12
minute video got wrong was to blame it on "sub prime" mortgages that
have turned "upside down," meaning that their value is now less than the
mortgaged value of the home. And of course the reason the home
values is decreasing is simple supply and demand. As the supply of
foreclosed homes infects the market the average home price is invariably
going to go down. Yes, some of these people did enter into ARM's
(adjustable rate mortgages) whose interest rates ballooned and put the
new monthly mortgage payments out of reach. But increasingly this
is effecting American workers who hold conventional mortgages and the
media remains silent on conveying this inconvenient truth. Below I
have included a good synopsis of the subprime mortgage crisis:
The crisis began with the
bursting of the United States housing bubble[1][2] and high default
rates on "subprime" and adjustable rate mortgages (ARM), beginning in
approximately 2005–2006. For a number of years prior to that, declining
lending standards, an increase in loan incentives such as easy initial
terms, and a long-term trend of rising housing prices had encouraged
borrowers to assume difficult mortgages in the belief they would be able
to quickly refinance at more favorable terms. However, once interest
rates began to rise and housing prices started to drop moderately in
2006–2007 in many parts of the U.S., refinancing became more difficult.
Defaults and foreclosure activity increased dramatically as easy initial
terms expired, home prices failed to go up as anticipated, and ARM
interest rates reset higher. Foreclosures accelerated in the United
States in late 2006 and triggered a global financial crisis through 2007
and 2008. During 2007, nearly 1.3 million U.S. housing properties were
subject to foreclosure activity, up 79% from 2006.[3]
Subprime mortgage crisis (Wiki)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subprime_mortgage_crisis
So what began as primarily subprime
evictions is soon to be primarily conventional mortgage evictions.
And what they don't want to admit, until the damage is irreversible, is
that this is a direct result of the offshoring of American jobs and the
insourcing of foreign labor: both legal and illegal. And
this in turn is further exacerbated by the devaluation of the dollar
which is being driven by the Federal Reserve. Of course the reason
the value of the money is is decreasing is because the Federal Reserve
is cranking out unprecedented amounts of new currency to bail out Wall
street. Finally the devaluation of our currency is making it
harder to entice countries such as China and Saudi Arabia to "loan" us
any more money. After all, at the rate our dollar is loosing
value, means that all of the Treasury Bills that they are buying are
actually loosing value.
So that is what has brought us to the
current Credit Crunch that threatens to seize up the global economy and
brought about Bush's signing of the "Trillion Dollar Corporate Bailout"
on October 3, 2008.
Well, I've got to stop now.
Stay tuned for a further analysis of our current situation tomorrow or
Monday. I think I've probably depressed you enough for one day.
But before I go let me give you a
clue as to where we are headed. The Global Elite is out to force
us into the North American Union and the issue of a new currency that
will be shared by Canada, the United States and Mexico. We could
well be seeing the end to our sovereignty and our Constitution.
The following video provides a good primer if you are yet unaware of
these developments.
Yours in Freedom,

I have just come across one of the
best "crash courses" in Globalist Economics and it is free. In
many of my articles and videos I have stated that the current economic
paradigm is unsustainable and this series does a great job of explaining
just why that is. The crux of the problem is that
exponential growth systems (e.g., the Federal Reserve and Centralized
Banking) are inherently doomed to fail. It also amplifies
what I am getting at in the video "Don't Vote for Traitors Obama or
McCain." Here is the link to the series:
I just posted this new video on
10/08/2008. Unlike most of my videos this is extemporaneous (e.g.,
no teleprompter script etc.). This video looks at how both McCain
and Obama screwed the American People by signing the "Trillion Dollar
Corporate Bailout. Then it explains how the Amero and US Troops on US
soil could be signs of the end of America as we know it. Presidential
write-in Candidate Bruce Cain then explains for his "New Agenda for
America" and his bailout plan would be better options for the American
Working Class.

A Bailout for the American People
=================================
Where is the Bailout for the American People? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5j57qdQi8Qg
In Mid-July 2008 I post the video
(above) "Where is the Bailout for the American People." Currently
there have been nearly 1,000 viewings of this video making it the most
watched "New Age Citizen" YouTube video to date. 500 hits per
month ain't bad for a video where someone isn't dancing around in their
underwear.
Although the prescription for cure is
rather primitive I think the strength of the video is that it exposes
"free trade" for what it truly is, a Global Ponzi Scheme. The
transcript for the video is available in one of the past archives.
Since I'm blazing through this "talk" at about 150 words per minute you
may want to read slowly through the archive, or watch the video a few
times, to fully assimilate all of the points made in this video.
At any rate please take 10 minutes to
watch. It makes some points that your had really begin to
understand in the wake of the "Trillion Dollar Corporate Bailout" that
Congress passed and Bush signed into law on Friday, October 3rd, 2008.
I have provided links to the final
votes in the House and Senate over the "Trillion Dollar Corporate
Bailout." Do not vote for any representative that voted for the
bailout included Senators Obama and McCain.
GovTracks.us is actually
"nicer" than Thomas.gov in that these lists sort by state for quick and
easy information. I encourage you to share these lists as widely
as possible so that we can send a very strong message this November:
The reason for the "New Agenda for
America" is well described in the following video from the Zeitgeist
Movement that begins on October 10th, 2008 with the activation of their
website:
This is why I am
telling people to write in someone other that Obama or McCain. Of
course I would be honored if you wrote me in ("Bruce W. Cain") but if
not write in "Minnie Mouse:" just don't vote for Obama or McCain.
They voted for the "Trillion Dollar Bailout," they will grant
Amnesty to 12-30 million Illegal Aliens and upset the ecological
balance; they will not Legalize Marijuana, they are the enemy of the
American People. They were selected by the Global Elite. Do
not give any further legitimacy to the "system."
Here is what will happen if we don't
act. Right now we have just been forced by the Global Elite to
accept the "Trillion Dollar Corporate Bailout." In the months to
come inflation will sky rocket and foreclosures will go through the roof
(pun intended). The next bubble will be the "Derivatives Market"
whose estimated bad accounts are close to a quadrillion dollars. Yep,
you got that right: a thousand trillion dollars.
Their strategy is to destroy the
American People economically between the bailout of the "housing bubble"
(10/03/2008) and the onset of the "Derivatives Bubble." It is
necessary that the American People are economically powerless and have
fully succumbed to this manifestation of "shock doctrine" before they
allow the "Derivatives Bubble" bursts.
That is because they don't want the
American People to be salvaged. Yet if we just bailed out by
giving every adult $150,000 most debts could be erased.
Considering a population of 200 million the costs of this "Main street
Bailout" would cost 30 Trillion dollars. But when you consider the
1,000 Trillion Dollar "Derivatives Bubble" you begin to realize this is
chump change.
The point of the "New Agenda for
America" and the "Zeitgeist Project" is that we both recognize that the
current global economic model is nothing more that a massive Ponzi
scheme that is destined to crash. It is up to us to consider the
millions of possible alternative courses that we could take to salvage
the dignity of both the American People as well as people throughout the
rest of the world. As John Lennon once sung in the famous song
"All You Need Is Love;"
"There's nothing you can't do that
can't be done"
John Lennon and Paul McCarney, "All You Need Is Love"
At any rate this film, which I
believe is authored by the makers of the film Zeitgeist, really embraces
the philosophy that I share and that is truly behind the "New Agenda for
America." So please take ten minutes to watch the film
In addition you can now watch the
original "Zeitgeist" and the
"Zeitgeist Addendum" which is a new 2 hour video that focuses on the
flawed system of Central Banking and the Federal Reserve:
And when you have finished watching
the film read through the "New Agenda for America (below)."

exchanges) by foreign governments or individuals!
(9) Replace the Federal Reserve with a People's Reserve which allows

If you like the "New Agenda for
America" then go to the following link to watch more videos about it and
to find ways to spread the word:
And when you consider alternatives to
Obama and McCain perhaps you might consider writing in "Bruce W. Cain"
who is the author of the "New Agenda for America." I would
guarantee that Marijuana would become legal the minute after my
inauguration by granting clemency to all non-violent Marijuana offenders
throughout the United States. The next day I would move forward
with the implementation of all 10 planks of the "New Agenda for
America." There is still hope for a better United States and a
better planet. Something to think about?
This is a description of the "Venus
Project" that is mentioned in the "Zeitgeist Project." Though I
don't know enough to support it, this description seems compatible with
the "New Agenda for America." Where is may disagree with the
"Zeitgeist Movement" movie is that I do think each country should work
towards self sufficiency. I do not agree with erasing borders as
this would create the very kaos that the Globalists are attempting to
create. Other than that the project appears interesting to me,
though more information will not be available till October 12th, 2008.
The Venus Project presents a bold, new direction for humanity that
entails nothing less than the total redesign of our culture. There are
many people today who are concerned with the serious problems that face
our modern society: unemployment, violent crime, replacement of humans
by technology, over-population and a decline in the Earth's ecosystems.
As you will see, The Venus Project is dedicated to confronting all of
these problems by actively engaging in the research, development, and
application of workable solutions. Through the use of innovative
approaches to social awareness, educational incentives, and the
consistent application of the best that science and technology can offer
directly to the social system, The Venus Project offers a comprehensive
plan for social reclamation in which human beings, technology, and
nature will be able to coexist in a long-term, sustainable state of
dynamic equilibrium.
The plans for the Venus Project offer society a broader spectrum of
choices based on the scientific possibilities inherent in current
technology and direct that knowledge toward a new era of peace and
sustainability for all cultures. Through the implementation of a
resource-based economy, and a multitude of innovative and
environmentally friendly technologies directly applied to the social
system, The Venus Project proposals will dramatically reduce crime,
poverty, hunger, homelessness, and many other pressing problems that are
common throughout the world today.
One of the cornerstones of the organization's findings is the fact that
many of the dysfunctional behaviors of today's society stem directly
from the dehumanizing environment inherent in the existing monetary
system. Moreover, the currently utilized random implementation of
automation and other technologies have resulted in a fragmented,
self-defeating trend occurring throughout the manufacturing and
high-tech sectors of today's global economy--namely the technological
replacement of human labor by machines. The Venus Project proposes a
social system in which automation and technology would be intelligently
applied and integrated into an overall social design where the primary
function would be to maximize the quality of life rather than profits.
This project also introduces a set of workable and acceptable human
values that are more appropriate and in balance with our present state
of technology.

As
I write to you on this 4th day in
October the House has just completed the process of passing the "Trillion Dollar
Corporate Bailout" which most economists have warned, will do nothing to
solve the root problems that face America Workers today. The media
has even admitted that 9 of 10 calls to Congress were against passage.
And around 2:15 PM, Friday October 3rd, President Bush signed the bill
into law. We have
been betrayed.
What if I told you that the reason
for the secret meeting, the other week, was to inform Congress that the
Oil Producing Middle East had basically "blackmailed" Congress to pass
this bill or they would turn off the oil spigot? Well that appears
to be what has happened. The fact of the mater is that over half
of the 700 Billion is going to foreign governments. It is bad
enough that we would be forced to bail out American Banks. But
bailing out foreign banks only makes it easier for them to buy our
homes, businesses, banks and ports for literally pennies on the dollar.
Essentially what has just happened
here is that a Global Elite, most certainly not restricted to Saudi
Arabia, has just committed Economic Warfare on the United States.
And your federal representatives allowed it to happen through their
plurality of votes in both the House and the Senate.
But the question that looms before us
is, "What are we, the American People going to do about it?"
Since both Obama and McCain supported
the bill I would suggest that we De-Legitimize the 2008 Presidential
Election. Do not vote for either Obama or McCain. Of
course I would be touched if you wrote in my name: Bruce W. Cain.
But if you don't agree with my political platform, contained in the "New
Agenda for America," then vote for anyone else: just not McCain or
Obama. You have Ron Paul, Barr, Nader and many other to choose
from. Just remember, you will have to "write in" the name of your
alternative choice.
Please take a moment to see if you
agree with most of my agenda before proceeding:

But on the assumption that you decide to write-in "Bruce W. Cain" let me
direct you as to how to proceed. I have already provided
instructions as to how you can promote my candidacy through emails and
websites. But since only half of Americans are regularly on the
internet this link also has files for copying and distribution on the
streets, workplaces, bars and other places where Americans work, play
and gather. Here is the link:
But we only have a month to change
course. And like I said, if you don't vote for me just make sure
you also don't vote for McCain or Obama.
We must take away any legitimacy to
the 2008 Presidential Election. Our very future is a stake.
And if by some miracle I were to be elected Marijuana will be
Re-Legalized upon my inauguration and the United States will once again
be ruled by the ideas of our founding fathers: Washington, Franklin and
Jefferson. In the more likely event that Obama or McCain win, we
must amass a broad coalition to push back their Globalist agendas.
On
December 21st 2012 the Mayan Calendar predicts that beginning of a "New
Age" according to Mayan astrologers. What I have always found
fascinating is that this date corresponds with the date our solar system
will cross the galactic plane of the Milky Way which occurs about every
26,000 years. Of course what is so fascinating is to ponder how
and if they somehow recognized this "sine wave" oscillation around the
plane, of the Milky Way Galaxy, at a time when no one even had a concept
of a galaxy, much less the concept of a "heliocentric" solar system.
The Milky Way has a diameter of
approximately 100,000 light years and is approximately 1,000 light years
in height. As we think about the burgeoning deficit it is novel to
consider that a light year is about 6 trillion miles, or about 186,000
miles per second. Furthermore it takes our solar system
approximately 250 million years to make one rotation around the Milky
Way: something that has only occurred 20-25 times during the 13.6
billion year existence of our solar system. There must be
something I don't understand about this statistic as you would think it
would be more like (4 * 13) 52 times, provided each complete cycle is
taking 250 million years. Actually the earth was only formed about
5 Billion years ago: so in that case the 20 revolutions does make sense:
(4 * 5) = 20. But in any case these time frames challenge us
to wrap our minds around these great dimensions of time and space.
And it is such mental exercise that truly increase our true knowledge
and intuition.
While this is an "off topic" I must
say I do find it rather fascinating to ponder. For more
information on our relationship with our galaxy check out the following
"Wiki" reference:
Most astronomers are now convinced that at the center of our Galaxy is a
massive black hole the unimaginable seize of millions of our suns. This
is where Science and Mythology truly meet. For what the center of our
Galaxy may represent in terms of energy and the properties of
time/space, no one has a clue.
But to the ancient Maya the Milky Way Galaxy represented the Great
Cosmic Mother from which all Life was birthed. They saw our Galactic
Mother stretching out across the night sky and somehow recognize the
place where we all had come from. And the great central bulge at Her
center they perceived as the Cosmic Womb. Within the central bulge there
is what looks like a dark corridor, known as the dark rift. To the Maya
it was referred to by many names but the most pertinent here is their
reference to this area as the "birthing place".
Are we beginning to get the picture here?
Considering then the significance of the 2012 date in the Mayan
calendar, it has been discovered that this year specifically points to a
period of time when the December Solstice Sun aligns with and arises out
from the backdrop of the dark rift, the "Galactic Birth Canal" in the
central bulge. It's as if the Sun is actually being birthed anew from
the Galactic Womb.
Most of us are not archaeologists or astronomers, anthropologists or
astrologers. Yet the majority of what is written about one of the most
exciting and relevant subjects of our day - the approaching Winter
Solstice 2012 end-date of the Mayan Calendar - appears in words aimed at
specialists and couched in language that can be hard to read. This
article is written for the Everyday Earthling who may be hearing a lot
about the Mayans, their calendars, hieroglyphs and mysterious temples
scattered throughout the jungles of Mexico, Guatemala, Belize and
Honduras.
Let us begin with some questions. Why is there so much talk about the
"end of the Mayan calendar" and what does it mean? Is there something
significant we should know about the Winter Solstice date of December
21, 2012? How were the Mayans able to track long periods of time and why
would they want to? Why should we care about the Mayans today? Is there
anything we can learn from them? I'll begin by sharing how my own
interest in the subject developed and go on from there.
I first learned about the Mayans in 1987 from Jose Arguelles' book The
Mayan Factor. It was during the months leading up to the event known as
Harmonic Convergence that Arguelles, artist and visionary, introduced me
to the 20 Mayan daysigns and the thirteen Mayan numbers - and to the
wonderfully engaging and mysterious 260 day Mayan ceremonial calendar,
called the Tzolkin (pronounced chol-kin). My pursuit of knowledge about
pre-Columbian culture had begun.
A great deal of scientific and visionary research work has been done
about the Mayans, so I started reading. I learned that the Mayans
tracked cycles within cycles within cycles of time. Their calendar acted
as a harmonic calibrator, linking and coordinating the earthly, lunar,
solar and galactic seasons in an aesthetically simple and elegant
manner. The provocative simplicity of the daysigns and the sheer harmony
of the calendar drew me in. Then a landmark article by John Major
Jenkins appeared in Mountain Astrologer magazine in 1994, revealing for
the first time in our era the true meaning of the end-date.
Is there something significant we should know about the Winter Solstice
date of December 21, 2012? Yes. On this day a rare astronomical and
Mayan mythical event occurs. In astronomic terms, the Sun conjuncts the
intersection of the Milky Way and the plane of the ecliptic. The Milky
Way, as most of us know, extends in a general north-south direction in
the night sky. The plane of the ecliptic is the track the Sun, Moon,
planets and stars appear to travel in the sky, from east to west. It
intersects the Milky Way at a 60 degree angle near the constellation
Sagittarius.
The cosmic cross formed by the intersecting Milky Way and plane of the
ecliptic was called the Sacred Tree by the Maya. The trunk of the tree,
the Axis Mundi, is the Milky Way, and the main branch intersecting the
tree is the plane of the ecliptic. Mythically, at sunrise on December
21, 2012, the Sun - our Father - rises to conjoin the center of the
Sacred Tree, the World Tree, the Tree of Life..
This rare astronomical event, foretold in the Mayan creation story of
the Hero Twins, and calculated empirically by them, will happen for many
of us in our lifetime. The Sun has not conjoined the Milky Way and the
plane of the ecliptic since some 25,800 years ago, long before the
Mayans arrived on the scene and long before their predecessors the
Olmecs arrived. What does this mean?
Due to a phenomenon called the precession of the equinoxes, caused by
the Earth's wobble that lasts almost 26,000 years, the apparent location
of the Winter Solstice sunrise has been ever so slowly moving toward the
Galactic Center. Precession may be understood by watching a spinning
top. Over many revolutions the top will rise and dip on its axis, not
unlike how the Earth does over an extremely long period of time. One
complete rise and dip constitutes the cycle of precession.
The Mayans noticed the relative slippage of the positions of stars in
the night sky over long periods of observation, indicative of
precession, and foretold this great coming attraction. By using an
invention called the Long Count, the Mayans fast-forwarded to anchor
December 21, 2012 as the end of their Great Cycle and then counted
backwards to decide where the calendar would begin. Thus the Great Cycle
we are currently in began on August 11, 3114 BCE But there's more.
The Great Cycle, lasting 1,872,000 days and equivalent to 5,125.36
years, is but one fifth of the Great Great Cycle, known scientifically
as the Great Year or the Platonic Year - the length of the precession of
the equinoxes. To use a metaphor from the modern industrial world, on
Winter Solstice CE (Common Era) 2012 it is as if the Giant Odometer of
Humanity on Earth hits 100,000 miles and all the cycles big and small
turn over to begin anew. The present world age will end and a new world
age will begin.
Over a year's time the Sun transits through the twelve houses of the
zodiac. Many of us know this by what "Sun sign" is associated with our
birthday. Upping the scale to the Platonic Year - the 26,000 year long
cycle - we are shifting, astrologically, from the Age of Pisces to the
Age of Aquarius. The Mayan calendar does not really "end" in 2012, but
rather, all the cycles turn over and start again, vibrating to a new
era. It is as if humanity and the Earth will graduate in the eyes of the
Father Sun and Grandmother Milky Way.
Why should we care about the Mayans today? Is there anything we can
learn from them? The trees give us oxygen to breathe and help create the
nourishing rains upon which we depend, sustaining life. We are missing
these rains in places where the trees have been cut down or burned.
Fires begin that nature can no longer extinguish. For the Mayans, trees
were intermediaries between the physical and spiritual worlds, and
absolutely essential to life. They believed that without the tree man
could not survive and that "with the death of the last tree comes the
death of the human race."
The ancient carved stones and the stars themselves tell us we are on the
brink of a new world age. There is no reason not to take a leap of faith
into imagining what may be in store. We may trust that it is time for
humanity to awaken into a true partnership with each other, with the
Earth, and the Cosmos. By accepting this partnership we may claim our
birthright and become Galactic Citizens who care for and sustain the
planet, thus sustaining ourselves. This is clearly the challenge of our
times. Yet, arriving just in time and on schedule is the Winter Solstice
dawn on the day we may remember that we are truly Children of the World.

discussed in detail to promote global peace, religious harmony, and
spiritual development of humanity:
I've just accepted an invitation to
speak about Marijuana Policy at the
TrumblePlex in Detroit on Sunday October 19th, 2008. I
will be talking about the "Medical Marijuana" Proposal that is on
November's the ballot because we collected over 400,000 signatures to
get it there. I am proud to say that I collected over 1,000 of
those signatures. The expected win in November will make Michigan
the 13th State to make Marijuana available for medical patients, since
1996, when Proposition 215 passed in California. I will also
be talking about the "MERP" Model for Re-Legalizing Marijuana, which you
might call the final step in ending the War on Marijuana.
The MERP Model would allow all adults
to grow up to 100 plants without any government taxation, regulation or
other forms of interference. It would destroy the Mexican Drug
Cartels, local drug gangs and would make our streets much safer in the
process. It would also screw the police, attorneys and the prison
industrial complex of billions in ill-gotten gains from the harassment
of over 830,000 responsible Marijuana consumers each year in the United
States alone. Citibank and many other banking institutions would
also get screwed as they would no longer be profiting from basically
"laundering" drug money.
Here is a more formal preview of what
I will be talking about on the 19th:
At any rate it should be a great time. I will
be speaking around 8:00 PM in the middle of the 5 Bands. Doors
open at 5 PM and I believe there is a $6 donation per guest. Hope
to see you there!
Here's a map. The "star" is where the TrumbullPlex is located:
I
want to thank Richard Rawlings for nominating me on behalf of the United
States Marijuana Party. To be clear it would take
a historic viral internet campaign
to actually deliver me to the White House in 2009. But it is my
hope that we minimally build a large coalition, in the next several
months, so that we can minimally push the "New Agenda
for America" down the throats of whichever Corporate Candidate
(e.g., Obama or McCain) actually "wins" the election.
Here are the
initial "planks" of my Presidential Platform known as the "New
Agenda for America:"
(1) Universal Health Care for All
American Citizens
(2) A 20-year moratorium on all
immigration into the United States
(3) Legal Marijuana for all
Adults and Medical Patients
(4) An immediate reversal to the
Offshoring and Inshoring of American Jobs
(5) A strict enforcement on
issues of Separation of Church and State
(6) An immediate move from
so-called Free Trade Agreements to Bilateral Trade agreements
(7) A major R&D project to bring
energy independence to the United States and the World through recycling, reuse,
ending hyper-consumerism and investing in the development of sustainable energy
sources (e.g., solar, photovoltaic, wind, geothermal)
(8) No further ownership of US
Assets (businesses, homes, ports, stock exchanges) by foreign governments or
individuals!
(9) Replace the Federal Reserve
with a People's Reserve which allows public oversight
(10) Absolute support for Net Neutrality
Of course one of the 10 planks, of
the "New Agenda for America" is the MERP Model for Re-Legalizing
Marijuana.
The MERP Project
The Marijuana Re-Legalization Policy (MRP) Project
This is the most progressive of all Marijuana reform
models because it basically allows all adults over 18 to grow up to 100
plants without ANY federal taxation, regulation or other forms of
interference. I would also argue that this small expansion of
individual liberty is required, given the liberties that have been lost
since September 11th, 2001.
If, by some miracle, I did win the election, my first
official act would be to set up a special office that would grant
clemency to EVERY non-violent Marijuana offender throughout the United
States. This would be followed by executive pressure on both
Houses to remove Marijuana completely from the Controlled Substances Act
(1970). This would definitely end 70 years of needless Marijuana
Prohibition throughout the United States of America.
The very next thing I would do is reinstate Habeas
Corpus and Posse Commitatus. It should be remembered that the writ
of habeas corpus goes all the way back to the signing of the Magna Carta
in 1215 AD. That is a good measure as to how far George Bush
has pushed back the rights of Americans in the last 8 years. After
that is a long list which would include:
* Sending out the 12 million "No-Match" letters and
deporting all Illegal Aliens and Visa "overstays" that these letters
would surely identify.
* Reopen the "911" investigation with the help of such experts as
Griffin etc.
* Drafting a massive "debt relief" program for legal American Citizens
that will assure the ownership of their homes and the access to American
jobs and other opportunities.
* Complete disruption of funding to any nation (e.g., Saudi Arabia) that
does not recognize inalienable rights such as Freedom of Religion and
Separation of Church and State.
Well, I think you've got the idea. It would not
be "business as usual" unless of course we are finally talking about the
People's business. And it is sad to say that no one has talked
about the business of the American People in at least 50 years.
Now for more information on the United States
Marijuana Party:
The
United States Marijuana Party - is a motivated group of Americans who
are tired of living in fear of their government because of marijuana
prohibition. We are fed up with the intrusion into our personal lives,
with urine testing at work and at school, with armed home invasions, and
with the possibility of prison because of a plant. WE are Americans and
WE do not piss in a cup for anyone!
WE feel it is time for the 12 million Americans who smoke marijuana on a
regular basis to stop hiding their love for this plant and unite as one
large body of voters to demand an end to the unconstitutional
prohibition of marijuana and the drug war. The U.S. cannot lock up 12
million people. The War on Drugs causes more harm than the drugs
themselves ever will. United WE are a potential 12 million vote
political machine. WE want to live free and WE must be determined to
stand up, be counted, demonstrate, rally, and write. Waiting for the
government to silence us all in the American prison system is not an
option! Too many of our brethren are there, in prison right now.
More Americans are in jail today for non-violent drug offenses than at
any previous time in American history. More Americans are in jail today
for marijuana offenses than at any previous moment in American history.
The war against marijuana is a genocidal war waged against us by a
government determined to eradicate our plant, our culture, our freedom
and our political rights.
The House of Representatives passed the bailout on Friday, 263-171,
garnering fifty eight more votes in the affirmative than were captured in
Monday’s stunning defeat. Certainly without delay, the President will commit
the act to law. Like the coroner’s hand upon a death certificate, Bush’s
signature acknowledges the passing of our democracy. And only a scattered
few are showing up for the funeral. The rest seem content to join the raging
party across the hall, unaware that they attend their own wake.
There was a brief sense of exhilaration among the people as the House struck
down the obscene $700 billion bailout bill earlier this week. Years of
apparently futile activism were once again inflated with hope—the Congress
does listen and they will represent us, we thought. Hundreds of thousands of
calls, letters, emails, and faxes inundated Senate and House offices, so
much so that they had to shut down the email servers—apparently, their junk
mail filter was not efficient enough to sort out our annoying insistence
that our opinions matter.
There was elation because we surprised them and we knew it. It was evident
that they were shocked—they expected we the people to roll right over when
they first presented this plan, but we did not. In fact, we recoiled and
then attacked, as all living things tend to do when they sense an eminent
threat. The Internet was alive with deep discussion and every day that
slipped away without the bailout coming into fruition allowed more and more
of the citizenry to educate their selves and each other as to the realities
of our economy. Thousands of notable thinkers, economists, journalists, and
business leaders warned us that the bailout was a scam, a clear and present
coup, an enormous power grab, and an idea completely without merit as a
viable financial plan for our country.
They were caught off guard. Their computer models didn’t predict a popular
uprising. Not yet—they know that’s coming, they’ve prepared well for it, but
it wasn’t supposed to be last week. It wasn’t supposed to occur until after
they had fleeced the American people one more time. It makes them nervous,
these would-be lords, when they cannot render us as binary creatures on a
graph. For all of their data, we continue to defy them as complex beings,
beyond their arrogant and narcissistic appraisal. We have not grown so used
to the routine of non-options as they would have hoped.
Today, our optimism is diminished. You see, in truth, there are those who do
hate America and what we stand for. They hate our free will, they hate our
resistance to arbitrary authority, and they hate our insistence of
self-determination. They hate that we have friends without agenda. They hate
that we have love without bribery or gain. They hate that we don’t hate each
other, even with our many differences, and in spite of their best efforts to
divide us. They hate that we won’t be controlled. They hate that we won’t
follow their fear-mongering man-made clay-footed gods into the fiery abyss.
They hate us for being random, for being creative, for being beautiful,
sometimes in spite of ourselves. They hate us for being the breath of
Providence, when they are merely the sigh of decay.
These people are not plotting against us in oversees bunkers. They are not
hiding in hovels in the hills. They are not in Iraq, or in Afghanistan, or
in Russia. No, they hide in the shadows right here in our own country, those
shadows inevitably cast whenever freedom sees the light of day. They hide on
Pennsylvania Avenue in buildings we own. They hide in the Treasury behind
stacks of counterfeit bills. Apparently, they hide in Congress, behind
hubris and hypocrisy. They hide right in front of us. They are the enemies
domestic and the warnings of their subterfuge have accompanied their every
action throughout the last century.
“Crises there will continue to be,” President Eisenhower stated in his final
speech of 1961. “In meeting them, whether foreign or domestic, great or
small, there is a recurring temptation to feel that some spectacular and
costly action could become the miraculous solution to all current
difficulties.”
And today, October 3, 2008, the enemies domestic cemented their coup via
their ‘miraculous solution’. In the face of overwhelming and undeniable
popular dissent, they concluded that they knew better than us, once again.
They have decimated the promise of our nation with one vote and somehow, for
them, this is embraced as accomplishment.
Nothing changed from Monday to Friday, except the Senate, Caligula’s’
ever-faithful stable of horses’ asses, threw some bones to the floor so the
lesser-capitalists with regional sway would give their Representatives the
nudge. Mix that effort in with some thinly veiled threats and the people’s
voice was easily dismissed. It’s the same con—a $700 billion dollar
sweetheart deal given to privileged agencies and corporations who cannot
even give us proper accounting of their own businesses. They will use this
money to sweep up the juicy remnants of competitors as they collapse one by
one. What possibly would lead the American people to think that the likes of
Goldman, Morgan, and Citi were in this to help stabilize their competition?
This is the crescendo of the great shift of wealth from many to a few.
We are going to have a Greater Depression. It is simply an unavoidable fact
and, instead of gearing up the innovative spirit of the American people by
giving them a true assessment of our economic affairs, the oligarchy
continues to mislead, redirect, and steal. The ‘trickle-down’ prosperity of
the eighties ended up being nothing more than condensation on the sides of
the pigs’ troughs and even that is running dry.
We will expand our wars and try to solve this dilemma the same way as
always, via the swollen military-industrial complex. Nothing stems
unemployment like a big war. As we were distracted and urgently addressing
the bailout crisis, the House quietly moved $600 billion towards the Defense
war chest. That doesn’t sound like an effort towards ending the conflicts.
It certainly doesn’t seem that Congress is anticipating change in the form
of a new administration. They will crush dissent, our Army assigned to
domestic missions, the police tight in the pocket of Homeland Security, and,
one by one, everyone who does not agree will be targeted as unpatriotic and
subdued. One by one they will be hunted, until they are all consumed by the
unquenchable appetite of fascism.
A dark passage is now upon us and little on the horizon would indicate calm
skies ahead. Our presidential candidates speak the same lines, frantically
digging through thesauruses in the hopes that few will notice that they are
saying the same things. Senator Obama promises us change, a tongue-in-cheek
metaphor for coins dropped in a urine-stained hat, I have always guessed.
McCain promises us change, like the abusive ex who beats you senseless
nightly, then brings you a box of chocolates and a teary-eyed pledge towards
better days.
Let me point out that we have had plenty of change in the last eight years.
Our Constitution has been rendered anecdotal by executive orders, the
Patriot Acts, and dozens of subversive policies that have the collective
goal of subjecting all of us to the whims of an authoritarian regime. We’ve
changed the way we educate our children, by choking off opportunity with
deceitfully titled programs like No Child Left Behind, a warped elitist
concept akin to weighing babies weekly and only feeding the fat ones. We
changed our morals and concept of honor, by shrugging off the use of
torture, imprisonment of the innocent, and the vile exploitation of weaker
states. We’ve changed the structure of the Government by castrating
Congress, empowering the executive beyond our founders’ wildest nightmares,
and corrupting the judiciary. We’ve changed a lot already. Maybe we need to
un-change a few things first, before our candidates change us anymore.
The pundits keep telling us we need new ideas for this new century; that we
do not know what tomorrow will bring. Let me tell you what tomorrow will
bring if we continue on this path. Tomorrow will bring yesterday, the echo
of a hundred empires that have come and gone before us. You want to see the
future? Pick up a history book. The timeless reprise of tyranny, as always,
is easy to identify. It is always accompanied by death, suffering, and the
dark cloak of angry greed. That’s the fruit that such tyranny bears.
We can resuscitate our nation. We can bring it back from the brink, even
now. But this will require us to stand together, suspending mutual prejudice
and our own pursuits of the utopist dreams (it’s only utopia to you--that’s
the whole problem with trying to force utopia on others). We must stop
parroting the scripts they prepare for us and realize that few of these
public servants serve us. We have to stop letting them herd our dissent into
organizations they control. We have to stop assuming the options they
present are the only options, especially when it comes to our elected
officials. We must remember why we believe in our nation and why we believe
in each other. The mind of our nation is ever-changing and diverse; but the
heart of our nation is constant: it beats for true freedom, for true hope,
for true equality, and we keep making slow steps forward towards that end.
Until today. Today, we were stopped cold in that pursuit. Today, our lives
were indentured under the yoke of massive debt, our liberties were signed
away in a frenzy of fear and corruption, and our happiness has been
redefined as a credit score.
Ashes to ashes, dust to dust…let us drink to the fallen nation.
Far be it for me to be under the delusion that I have all
the answers to our national and global challenges. So while I have not
fully scrutinized "Plan B" I encourage my readers to look at the full
spectrum of thought and solutions. In that spirit I encourage you to
read through "Plan B" by Lester Brown. You can actually read through

“Our global civilization today is on an economic path that is
environmentally unsustainable, a path that is leading us toward economic
decline and eventual collapse,” says Lester Brown in Plan B 2.0: Rescuing a
Planet Under Stress and a Civilization in Trouble.
“Environmental scientists have been saying for some time that the global
economy is being slowly undermined by environmental trends of human origin,
including shrinking forests, expanding deserts, falling water tables,
eroding soils, collapsing fisheries, rising temperatures, melting ice,
rising seas, and increasingly destructive storms,” says Brown, President and
Founder of the Earth Policy Institute, a Washington, D.C.-based independent
environmental research organization.
Although it is obvious that no society can survive the decline of its
environmental support systems, many people are not yet convinced of the need
for economic restructuring. But this is changing now that China has eclipsed
the United States in the consumption of most basic resources, Brown notes in
Plan B 2.0, which was produced with major funding from the Lannan Foundation
and the U.N. Population Fund.
Among the basic commodities—grain and meat in the food sector, oil and coal
in the energy sector, and steel in the industrial sector—China now consumes
more than the United States of each of these except for oil. It consumes
nearly twice as much meat (67 million tons compared with 39 million tons)
and more than twice as much steel (258 million to 104 million tons).
These numbers are about total consumption. “But what if China reaches the
U.S. consumption level per person?” asks Brown. “If China’s economy
continues to expand at 8 percent a year, its income per person will reach
the current U.S. level in 2031.
“If at that point China’s per capita resource consumption were the same as
in the United States today, then its projected 1.45 billion people would
consume the equivalent of two thirds of the current world grain harvest.
China’s paper consumption would be double the world’s current production.
There go the world’s forests.”
If China one day has three cars for every four people, U.S. style, it will
have 1.1 billion cars. The whole world today has 800 million cars. To
provide the roads, highways, and parking lots to accommodate such a vast
fleet, China would have to pave an area equal to the land it now plants in
rice. It would need 99 million barrels of oil a day. Yet the world currently
produces 84 million barrels per day and may never produce much more.
The western economic model—the fossil-fuel-based, auto-centered, throwaway
economy—is not going to work for China. If it does not work for China, it
will not work for India, which by 2031 is projected to have a population
even larger than China’s. Nor will it work for the 3 billion other people in
developing countries who are also dreaming the “American dream.”
And, Brown notes, in an increasingly integrated world economy, where all
countries are competing for the same oil, grain, and steel, the existing
economic model will not work for industrial countries either. China is
helping us see that the days of the old economy are numbered.
Sustaining our early twenty-first century global civilization now depends on
shifting to a renewable energy-based, reuse/recycle economy with a
diversified transport system. Business as usual—Plan A—cannot take us where
we want to go. It is time for Plan B, time to build a new economy and a new
world.
Plan B has three components—(1) a restructuring of the global economy so
that it can sustain civilization; (2) an all-out effort to eradicate
poverty, stabilize population, and restore hope in order to elicit
participation of the developing countries; and (3) a systematic effort to
restore natural systems.
Glimpses of the new economy can be seen in the wind farms of Western Europe,
the solar rooftops of Japan, the fast-growing hybrid car fleet of the United
States, the reforested mountains of South Korea, and the bicycle-friendly
streets of Amsterdam. “Virtually everything we need to do to build an
economy that will sustain economic progress is already being done in one or
more countries,” says Brown.
“Among the new sources of energy—wind, solar cells, solar thermal,
geothermal, small-scale hydro, biomass—wind is emerging as a major energy
source. In Europe, which is leading the world into the wind era, some 40
million people now get their residential electricity from wind farms. The
European Wind Energy Association projects that by 2020, half of the region’s
population—195 million Europeans—will be getting their residential
electricity from wind.
“Wind energy is growing fast for six reasons: It is abundant, cheap,
inexhaustible, widely distributed, clean, and climate-benign. No other
energy source has this combination of attributes.”
For the U.S. automotive fuel economy, the key to greatly reducing oil use
and carbon emissions is gas-electric hybrid cars. The average new car sold
in the United States last year got 22 miles to the gallon, compared with 55
miles per gallon for the Toyota Prius. If the United States decided for oil
security and climate stabilization reasons to replace its entire fleet of
passenger vehicles with super-efficient gas-electric hybrids over the next
10 years, gasoline use could easily be cut in half. This would involve no
change in the number of cars or miles driven, only a shift to the most
efficient automotive propulsion technology now available.
Beyond this, a gas-electric hybrid with an additional storage battery and a
plug-in capacity would allow us to use electricity for short distance
driving, such as the daily commute or grocery shopping. This could cut U.S.
gasoline use by an additional 20 percent, for a total reduction of 70
percent. Then if we invest in thousands of wind farms across the country to
feed cheap electricity into the grid, we could do most short-distance
driving with wind energy, dramatically reducing both carbon emissions and
the pressure on world oil supplies.
Using timers to recharge batteries with electricity coming from wind farms
during the low demand hours between 1 and 6 a.m. costs the equivalent of
50¢-a-gallon gasoline. We have not only an inexhaustible alternative to
dwindling reserves of oil, but an incredibly cheap one.
“Building an economy that will sustain economic progress requires a
cooperative worldwide effort,” notes Brown. “This means eradicating poverty
and stabilizing population—in effect, restoring hope among the world’s poor.
Eradicating poverty accelerates the shift to smaller families. Smaller
families in turn help to eradicate poverty.”
The principal line items in the budget to eradicate poverty are investments
in universal primary school education; school lunch programs for the poorest
of the poor; basic village-level health care, including vaccinations for
childhood diseases; and reproductive health and family planning services for
all the world’s women. In total, reaching these goals will take $68 billion
of additional expenditures each year.
A strategy for eradicating poverty will not succeed if an economy’s
environmental support systems are collapsing. Brown says, “This means
putting together an earth restoration budget—one to reforest the earth,
restore fisheries, eliminate overgrazing, protect biological diversity, and
raise water productivity to the point where we can stabilize water tables
and restore the flow of rivers. Adopted worldwide, these measures require
additional expenditures of $93 billion per year.”
Combining social goals and earth restoration components into a Plan B budget
means an additional annual expenditure of $161 billion. Such an investment
is huge, but it is not a charitable act. It is an investment in the world in
which our children will live.
“If we fail to build a new economy before decline sets in, it will not be
because of a lack of fiscal resources, but rather because of obsolete
priorities,” adds Brown. “The world is now spending $975 billion annually
for military purposes. A large segment of the U.S. 2006 military budget of
$492 billion, accounting for half of the world total, goes to the
development and production of new weapon systems. Unfortunately, these
weapons are of little help in curbing terrorism, nor can they reverse the
deforestation of the earth or stabilize climate.
“The military threats to national security today pale beside the trends of
environmental destruction and disruption that threaten the economy and thus
our early twenty-first century civilization itself. New threats call for new
strategies. These threats are environmental degradation, climate change, the
persistence of poverty, and the loss of hope.”
The U.S. military budget is totally out of sync with these new threats. If
the United States were to underwrite the entire $161 billion Plan B budget
by shifting resources from the $492 billion spent on the military, it still
would be spending more for military purposes than all other NATO members
plus Russia and China combined.
Of all the resources needed to build an economy that will sustain economic
progress, none is more scarce than time. With climate change we may be
approaching the point of no return. The temptation is to reset the clock.
But we cannot. Nature is the timekeeper.
It is decision time. Like earlier civilizations that got into environmental
trouble, we can decide to stay with business as usual and watch our global
economy decline and eventually collapse. Or we can shift to Plan B, building
an economy that will sustain economic progress.
“It is hard to find the words to express the gravity of our situation and
the momentous nature of the decision we are about to make,” says Brown. “How
can we convey the urgency of moving quickly? Will tomorrow be too late?
“One way or another, the decision will be made by our generation. Of that
there is little doubt. But it will affect life on earth for all generations
to come.”
