Vote Against BushImportant Quotes:New Content: (09/27/2004)

What to do on Election Day?

While both Kucinich and Nader had much better ideas that either  Bush or Kerry, I believe the most pragmatic action we can take in November is to vote against Bush!   This, unfortunately, means voting for Kerry -- but it is far from an endorsement.  Both the Democratic and Republican parties now only represent the interests of multi-national corporations which have betrayed the American people long ago.  It is a sad day in America.

American Idiot

"Don't want to be an American Idiot
Don't want a nation under the new mania
Can you hear the sound of hysteria?
The subliminal mind fuck America

Welcome to a new kind of tension
all across the alien nation
Where everything isn't meant to be OK
Television dreams of tomorrow
We're not the ones meant to follow
For that's enough to argue"

New Essay from Professor Hemp (09/27/2004):

What to do on Election Day?

While both Kucinich and Nader had much better ideas that either Bush or Kerry, I believe the most pragmatic action we can take in November is to vote against Bush! This, unfortunately, means voting for Kerry -- but it is far from an endorsement. Both the Democratic and Republican parties now only represent the interests of multi-national corporations which have betrayed the American people long ago. It is a sad day in America.  And it is only going to get a lot worse if we don't begin to fight back.

My feelings about the coming election are at least partially reflected in the title song from the new Green Day CD - "American Idiot":

American Idiot

"Don't want to be an American Idiot
Don't want a nation under the new mania
Can you hear the sound of hysteria?
The subliminal mind fuck America

Welcome to a new kind of tension
all across the alien nation
Where everything isn't meant to be OK
Television dreams of tomorrow
We're not the ones meant to follow
For that's enough to argue"

This is fast becoming an "alien nation" because our government no longer represents the interests of the majority of Americans who must live from paycheck to paycheck.  As you read through the latest copies of "New Age News" you will see exactly what I am talking about.  Both Kerry and Bush are quietly pursuing positions that the majority of American's do not support.  Here are a few examples of what I am referring to.

* Most Americans want to see restrictions against both legal and illegal immigration into this country.  Yet both candidates are quietly supporting programs that will give illegal aliens amnesty and programs that will continue to allow foreign workers to come to our country and take some of our best paying jobs.

* Most Americans (70 to 80%) want the sick to have access to Medical Marijuana.  Yet both candidates refuse to stop the federal interference which is preventing Medical Marijuana patients from getting their medicine.

* Most Americans want to see an end to the offshoring of American jobs.  Yet Bush has the audacity to insist that accelerating this trend is the way to go.  And Kerry's propositions to stem this tide don't even begin to address the job losses that we have endured since Bush took office.

What we actually need are stronger measures to protect American jobs. Try these few out for size:

* A 20 year moratorium on ALL immigration into the US
* Foreign students cannot work while here and must return home immediately upon graduation. Marrying an American will still get you deported.
* Employers who hire illegal immigrants go to jail for 20 years.
* Children born to illegal immigrants in the United States will no longer become American citizens -- they will be deported along with their families.

Once we place tariffs on offshoring and restrict immigration into this country both universities and corporations will be forced to begin investing in the American workers rather than finding more ways to insure our demise.  This is just part of my proposals to bring full employment back to American workers.

These are the only types of measures that will bring dignity and fairness back to the American worker.  We have to begin taking care of our own.

Of course my answer is to the Medical Marijuana access is to Re-Legalize Marijuana for ALL adult Americans.   For more information please read the following articles regarding the Marijuana Re-Legalization Policy (MRP) Project:

But this is just the beginning.  In the weeks to come this website will begin taking positions on a host of issues that will benefit the long term interests of the American people as well as those in other industrial and 3rd world countries.  And once this is in the works I, Professor Hemp, am going on a speaking tour to challenge the policies of our federal government.   If you know of a university student group, or other organization that can finance a visit please contact me at:

Broad dissatisfaction is also being heard as the American people discuss the upcoming presidential election. Most of those that are voting for Kerry are insistent that they are really voting against Bush -- because neither candidate seems worthy of their vote.

Finally, I want to give you my opinion on what the media's role has been in this election.  Over the last nine months discussions of the "issues" has been intentionally marginalized by dominating the news with non-issues.  Among these are the following:

* The Swift Boat Controversy that has questioned Kerry's heroism during his duty in Viet Nam.
* The fabricated memo that Dan Rather presented about Bush's National Guard duty.
* The overblown coverage of the last 4 hurricanes to hit Florida.

The Multi-national's, which basically own all major media in America, could not be happier at the way Bush is raping the American worker.   So it should not be a big surprise that they would prefer that Bush continue with his non-compassionate agenda.  And what better way to do this that to prevent any substantive discussion of how Bush's policies are throwing literally millions of American workers out of the middle class and into a new reality of poverty.

Also, please read this article if you have not already done so.  Very illuminating stuff.
